Vinny Anthony II is wicked fast.

Wisconsin’s junior receiver turned on the burners early Saturday afternoon against the Purdue Boilermakers, sprinting 52 yards for his 2nd touchdown of the season. Many other receivers would have gained about 20 yards on this play, but not Anthony:

The Badgers now lead Purdue 14-0 after the first quarter. Braedyn Locke, Wisconsin’s QB, has had a less than ideal start – he’s sitting at 4/10 for 73 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception – but it doesn’t matter. The Badgers have owned the line of scrimmage thus far, and senior RB Tawee Walker currently has 31 rushing yards on 6 carries with a rushing touchdown.

Anthony has been a solid receiver for the Badgers this season. After that touchdown he sits at 2nd on the team in receiving yards with 192 on just 8 catches. He’s found the end zone twice this season.

Anthony has a thing for long touchdowns like the one he scored above. He evened the score with USC when they played earlier in the year with a 63-yard touchdown reception. He remains Wisconsin’s top vertical threat heading into the bulk of Big Ten play.
