Purdue believes the phrase is the best description of what their community and nation should aspire to.
“We came [to the meetings] with the idea that ‘no fear all love’ is the perfect way to say what we need this year as a society, and as a team, too,” Offensive lineman Grant Hermanns said.
Equality and fair treatment for all Americans is the statement intended by the shirts.
“We wanted to promote the opportunity for an inclusive environment – the same environment we continue to advocate in favor of our student-athletes, coaches and staff,” Assistant athletics director of student-athlete development Peyton Stovall said.
The shirts will be worn for the first time in Week 2. Purdue will try to rise to 2-0 on the season when they square off with host Illinois on Saturday (11 a.m. CST/Big Ten Network).
