Ohio State got a big boost to its offensive line on Saturday as it goes for a repeat national title next fall as West Virginia transfer Justin Terry committed to the Buckeyes.
The 6-foot-5, 325-pound behemoth told On3 of his plans to play at Ohio State in 2025.
Terry will be particularly valuable to Ryan Day‘s program because he’ll still have 4 years of eligibility remaining after redshirting in 2024 for the Mountaineers. It’ll be a homecoming of sorts, too, for the native of Pickerington, Ohio.
He’ll be anxious to get his collegiate career off and running with the Buckeyes after not even appearing in a game for West Virginia last fall.
Terry was a 3-star recruit coming out of high school in Ohio. According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, he was the 1,874th-ranked player in the Class of 2024 and was the 147th-ranked offensive tackle.
Despite Ohio State being the defending national champion, it’s been hurting on the offensive line this offseason, so adding Terry is a big win for Day. Ohio State had projected to have 2 fewer scholarship linemen than it did last season.
Bringing Terry to Columbus gives the Buckeyes 15 offensive linemen who are on scholarship after having 16 last year on the way to that national championship. Ohio State is looking to replace 3 starters from its 2024 offensive line.
