Michigan names obvious Call of the Week for narrow win over Illinois

No. 3 Michigan took on a dangerous and highly efficient Illinois Fighting Illini team. Michigan into the fourth quarter down 17-10 but were able to conduct three huge drives that gave 3 field goals, including the game-winning 35-yard field goal from Jake Moody with 9 seconds left in the game. Michigan survived a road test 19-17.

Moody’s game-winning 35-yard field was the Call of the Game, which was the easy choice to make.

Moody was 4-of-4 on field goals of 46-yards early in the third quarter and 3 field goals in the fourth quarter of 41-yards, 33-yards, and 35-yards. He scored 13 of the 19 points for Michigan that includes the extra point after the touchdown in the first quarter.

Michigan’s offense ed for 376 total yards, which was 50 more yards than what Illinois ed for. The Wolverines were able to win the game despite losing the turnover battle 1-to-0.

No. 3 Michigan is set to go on the road in Week 13 to take on No. 2 Ohio State in The Game with the B1G East divisional title on the line.
