Kurtis Rourke has been magnificent for Indiana football this season, there’s really no other way to describe it. The Hoosiers are 8-0 and have a very real shot at reaching the College Football Playoff with the former Ohio transfer under center.

Of course, availability is the most important attribute in sports. Rourke missed last Saturday’s win over Washington following thumb surgery, but according to a report from Pete Thamel there’s real optimism that he will be able to play when the Hoosiers travel to East Lansing to face Michigan State this coming weekend.

Rourke owns the No. 1 QBR in college football at 91.6. He’s thrown for 15 touchdown es and 1,941 yards with just 3 interceptions on the year – a continuation of his stellar numbers at Ohio dating back to 2021. This is Rourke’s 6th and final year in college football, but he didn’t start seeing playing time until his 2021 campaign.

The Spartans will present a good challenge for Rourke if he’s truly able to go. The Spartans have allowed just 315 yards per game this season, 23rd in the country among FBS programs.

Kickoff for Week 10 is set for 3:30.
