Jeremiah Smith is coming off one of the best true freshman seasons in the history of college football. Now, he’s entering his sophomore year at Ohio State with all the expectations that come with it.

As a freshman for Ryan Day, Smith instantly became a go-to threat for the offense, even playing alongside more veteran pieces in Emeka Egbuka and Carnell Tate.

Now, Smith has been bestowed one of the ultimate honors for players. On Tuesday, EA Sports confirmed Smith as 1 of 2 cover athletes for “College Football 26,” sharing the cover with fellow wideout Ryan Williams of Alabama.

Relive all the drama from Jeremiah Smith’s freshman season with our picks of his top highlights from 2024.

Together, Smith and Williams were some of the top highlight-reel players in the entire country, and they did it all as true freshmen stars. Combined, Smith and Williams went for 2,180 receiving yards and 26 total touchdowns as immediate contributors.

However, Smith’s season was the more memorable of the 2, considering the College Football Playoff run and his impact on Ohio State’s national title.

To open the Playoff, Smith went for 103 yards and 2 touchdowns in a resounding rout of Tennessee. In the 2nd round, Smith went off at the Rose Bowl with 187 yards and 2 touchdowns against Oregon, scoring his first touchdown on the 2nd play from scrimmage and never looking back.

While Texas put a stop to the exploits by focusing on Smith in the game plan, he capped the campaign with an early touchdown and the game-clinching catch on 3rd down in the national title win over Notre Dame. Now, he’s gearing up for a sophomore season as a cover athlete with some of the best Heisman Trophy odds in the country.

DraftKings has Smith at +1200 to win the honor as we approach June, the lowest odds for any non-quarterback in the country and the 4th-lowest odds overall. Fans can take advantage of those odds with the DraftKings Ohio promo code.
