Michigan is on a roll in the transfer portal right now.

Dusty May led the Wolverines to a Sweet 16 in his first season at the helm. Now, the focus is on the transfer portal and improving the team as it looks to capitalize on a strong campaign. So far, so good for May and Michigan.

On Saturday, the Wolverines added UAB transfer big man Yaxel Lendeborg, considered one of the best available players in this cycle. Though Lendeborg is currently focused on the NBA Draft, should he remain in college, he’ll Morez Johnson Jr. (Illinois) and Elliot Cadeau (North Carolina) in the fold in Ann Arbor.

According to Evan Miyakawa’s player ratings, Lendeborg is the fifth-best player to enter the portal so far this spring, with Johnson at No. 3 and Cadeau at No. 6. It’s impressive work on the part of May.

Again, it bears mentioning that there’s a possibility this doesn’t fully materialize if Lendeborg goes all-in on the NBA Draft and gives up his remaining eligibility. According to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony, the big man is seeking assurances of a multi-year contract in order to stay in the Draft pool.

Still, May is getting the job done in the portal. The Wolverines look to be putting the pieces together for a deeper tournament run in 2026.
