Flipping Dylan Raiola would not only be a major addition Nebraska, but it could also turn things around in Lincoln according to On3Sports’ J.D. PicKell.

The current Georgia commit and 5-star quarterback prospect is reportedly visiting Lincoln this weekend and has picked up steam to flip to the Huskers. PicKell ed The Paul Finebaum Show to explain how landing a player of that caliber at QB would give the Huskers a chance.

He feels like it’s a “where there’s smoke, there’s fire” situation with Nebraska.

“If you have a quarterback, you have a chance. So, Nebraska landing a QB of his caliber would give them a very different kind of chance than they’ve had in these past few seasons. For Dylan Raiola if he flips, there’s a fair amount of personal reasons there,” said Pickell. “His dad played at Nebraska, his uncle is the offensive line coach at Nebraska. Like I said, nothing official yet, but it really does feel like a ‘where there’s smoke, there’s fire’ situation.”

The connections in Nebraska for Raiola are deep. His father Dominic played offensive line there. Dylan’s uncle Donovan currently coaches the offensive line in Lincoln.

The quarterback play at Nebraska this year was not up to par with Jeff Sims struggling and Heinrich Haarberg simply keeping his head above water. Matt Rhule is surely hoping that a player like Raiola can fix that and put the Huskers back on track.
